Question Mark: 4/21 is D-Day for Responsive Website Search Algorithm

Q: How important is it to have a mobile friendly website?

A: In February of 2014 the number of searches being performed on mobile devices surpassed the number being performed on desktop computers. For this reason, we’ve being recommending to our clients that they move to a responsive website design so they can capture as much traffic as possible on mobile and desktop computers.

However, recently Google announced that as of April 21, 2015, they will be giving preferential treatment to responsive websites in search results.

If you have a responsive website, you really don’t have to do anything, because you will likely see increased traffic to your website from organic search. If you don’t have a responsive website, it’s really important that you get one as fast as possible because you’re going to lose search results simply by not acting.

April 21st, 2015, is D-Day. On that day, your pages are going to start disappearing from mobile search results.
