Ellis Medicine takes gold at Aster Awards

Brand and advertising strategists Smith & Jones announced today that their recent work for Ellis Medicine was recognized in the 2011 Aster Awards. The brand introduction campaign for Ellis Medicine won the Gold Award for Total Advertising Campaigns in the 300-499 bed hospital group.
The Aster Awards Program is an elite competition recognizing the nation’s most talented healthcare marketing professionals for outstanding excellence in advertising. “Reinventing healthcare – one patient at a time” is the theme of the integrated branding and marketing campaign created by Smith & Jones and launched in January for the recently reorganized Ellis Medicine organization. The multi-channel campaign features creative elements in online, print and outdoor advertising media, a new website, on-site signage and an internal communications program.
“We found so many great stories about how Ellis was transforming the care experience,” said Mark Shipley, Chief Thinker at Smith & Jones. “There were examples of innovation from every line of business: 24-hour hospitalist coverage for maternity; expedited diagnostics in the emergency department; team-based care in the cardiac unit and nationally-recognized protocols for stroke care. “Across the organization, Ellis was changing the face of healthcare – making it better, more human. That was what we wanted to communicate.” Shipley explained.
