Smith & Jones wins gold & silver in 2015 Aster Awards
Healthcare marketing agency recognized for primary care and maternity campaign work
Smith & Jones received a gold award and a silver award in the 2015 Aster Awards for its work on Columbia Memorial Health’s branding/primary care campaign and Ellis Medicine’s maternity campaign, respectively. The Aster Awards recognize excellence in healthcare and medical marketing by healthcare organizations and marketing agencies.

The branding campaign for Columbia Memorial Health won gold in the service line: other/misc. category and hospital 150-200 bed group. The campaign promotes primary care that’s “expertly cultivated, locally sourced.” This positioning references the international medical training of the physicians at Columbia Memorial Health, their connections with top specialists, and the convenience of local access to care.
The campaign included: search, social and online display ads that drove to the physician finder and physician bio videos, content strategy, owned and environmental media. See the whole campaign here.
The maternity campaign for Ellis Medicine won silver in the service line: women’s category and hospital 300-499 bed group. This fun and light-hearted multimedia campaign features real maternity patients of the hospital and their baby bumps. We wanted the campaign to be about women and the childbearing process in a way that women could relate to positively. This campaign included television, online video pre-roll, print, radio, shopping cart, and digital advertising. See the rest of the creative here.
“We always aim to position our clients in the marketplace in a way that differentiates them from their competitors, and winning an award for that work is an added bonus,” said Mark Shipley, CEO and Strategy Director of Smith & Jones. “We’re proud of the results these campaigns generated for our clients, and that our teamwork was recognized in this national competition.”
