Video Of The Week: Stroke Survivor

Ellis Medicine Stroke Center Web Video

No one plans for having a stroke, but luckily Heather DiPietro was only 5 miles away from Ellis Medicine’s Stroke Center when she suffered from hers. Because she was brought there, she was able to be with her mother during her last few weeks of life, and she is able to care for her daughters today. The level of care at Ellis Medicine was able to turn this scary situation into a happy ending for Heather and her family.

In result, Heather became an advocate for the hospital system and its Neurology department. She attends foundation events to tell her real, moving story, which is also featured in this long-form web video, and was the focus of the 2011 Neurology and Stroke Campaign for Ellis Medicine. The campaign included a TV commercial, outdoor, on-site and online advertising.

This long-form video appeared on Video On Demand, on the Ellis Medicine web site, in rich media banner advertisements, at community meetings and presentations to secure donors, and at quarterly management meetings to motivate and align staff around the hospital mission.
