Video Of The Week— Hospital Large Gifts Campaign
Ellis Medicine Capital Campaign Foundation Video
This video was created in December 2011 to support Ellis Medicine’s Capital Campaign. The goal of the campaign is to raise money to support three major projects for the hospital system. The first is to build a new, larger Emergency Center to consolidate ER rooms on two different campuses and provide better care, the second is to improve Bellevue Woman’s Center, and the third is to build an enhanced urgent care center in Clifton Park, NY.
The video features chairs of the campaign and the hospital foundation, leaders of the community, patients, doctors and staff who speak about the quality of care at Ellis and make a strong case about how healthcare affects everyone in the community. Being able to see the faces and hear the stories of the people who are directly impacted by the donations make a lasting impression. Their candid, emotional recounts of what makes them support the hospital system, especially during a difficult economic time, is what motivates viewers to give.
The hospital system began using the video in 2011 and will continue to show it throughout 2012 at private group events and private one-on-one meetings to introduce the campaign and secure major donors. The response to the video has been so powerful that the foundation will also begin using it for a community donor campaign and will feature it on its website.
