Smith & Jones kicks off nine days of MoHu

Smith & Jones joined partners from the leading arts organizations in New York’s Capital Region to announce a new, region-wide annual arts festival taking place October 8-16, 2011. MoHu Fest will feature nine days of theatre, dance, music, visual arts in venues throughout Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga and Rensselaer Counties.

Smith & Jones created the name and visual identity for the festival, the festival’s web site, collateral materials, signage and merchandise to promote and raise funds for the event.

“MoHu celebrates the vitality of the arts and culture in the Capital Region – the area that borders the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers,” said Mark Shipley, Chief Thinker at Smith & Jones. “This thriving arts community contributes to our local economy and enhances our quality of life, both important considerations for the creative class and businesses contemplating relocating to our region. As members of the creative community and supporters of the performing arts, we were excited to sponsor and help create a vision for this pioneering project.”

"MoHu is a celebration over 9 days this October of the bounteous riches of the Capital Region's cultural community."

Nearly 150 regional arts and cultural organizations will collaborate to stage a wide array of arts experiences for a large and diverse audience. From performances and exhibitions to gallery openings and lectures, MoHu will feature several hundred unique events in and around the cities of Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga Springs and Troy.
