EVP, Creative Director

Co-founder and EVP at Smith & Jones, Sara is our principal artist in charge of designing and implementing integrated brand identity systems for hospitals and healthcare clients, including programs for Ellis Medicine, Planned Parenthood, Saratoga Care, Silhouette Optical, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Under her creative direction, the agency’s work has been awarded Best of Show in the Healthcare Advertising Awards, the Silver Pencil in The One Show, as well as multiple Aster Awards. Smith & Jones has also been recognized by the American Corporate Identity Awards, Graphic Design USA, Creativity, Creative Excellence in Business Advertising Awards (CEBA), Macromedia People's Choice, ReBrand 100, and Logo Lounge.

In addition to her leadership role at the agency, Sara is an adjunct professor at Rensselaer (a.k.a. RPI), where she teaches identity design, color theory, advanced typography and publication design; and at Hudson Valley Community College. She has served as visiting professor at The Maryland Institute College of Art and Skidmore College.

Her work has been exhibited worldwide, at the Museum of Art at the Dick Institute (Scotland), Nickle Arts Museum (Calgary), The Vancouver Video Poem Festival, Centro De La Imagen (Mexico City), The Kitchen (NYC), The Virginia Film Festival and is in the permanent collection of The Herbert F. Johnson Museum at Cornell University.

Sara holds an MFA in Electronic Arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a BFA in graphic design and photography from Purchase College.
